Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator

About the role

A Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator is sought in Dar es Salaam to support the Supply Chain Manager in the day-to-day execution of logistics, supply chain and operational activities. The role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and focuses on coordinating inland transportation within Tanzania, including arranging trucks, liaising with transporters, warehouses and customers, tracking deliveries, obtaining Proof of Delivery (POD) and keeping documentation complete. It also provides general operational and administrative support.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with transporters to arrange trucks, obtain and compare quotations, rates and availability, and schedule trucks by warehouse, customer and delivery needs
• Track deliveries, escalate delays or breakdowns, and keep records of trucks, drivers, transporters, dates, destinations and rates
• Obtain and maintain PODs, delivery notes and other transport documents, and coordinate with Finance so invoices have the documents needed for payment
• Collect, verify and file transport documents, follow up on missing ones, and keep logistics and delivery trackers updated
• Help monitor transporter performance, reliability, rates and service quality
• Assist with procurement, inventory and other logistics or operational activities, and support general administration such as records, external service providers, office purchases, licences, permits and insurance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration or a related field
• About 2-4 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, operations or administration
• Experience coordinating trucks and inland transportation in Tanzania is highly desirable
• Familiarity with Tanzanian transporters, routes and delivery coordination is an advantage
• Good written and verbal English and Swahili

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and email
• Organisation, follow-up and coordination with transporters, drivers and internal teams
• Ability to negotiate with transport providers and handle urgent delivery requests
