Regional HSSEQ Manager - Transport and Logistics

About the role

A client is seeking a Regional Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) Manager to lead HSSEQ programmes across its transport and logistics operations. The role covers chemical, reagents, terminal, aviation, trucking and warehousing operations, driving regulatory compliance, managing operational risks and strengthening a culture of safety, environmental responsibility and quality among employees and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and monitor HSSEQ policies, procedures and programmes supporting safe operations and the zero-accident goal.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and client requirements, including timely renewal of licences and certificates.
• Support an integrated management system aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Conduct risk assessments and workplace inspections, implement controls and address unsafe acts and conditions.
• Report and investigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, maintain a risk-based audit schedule and follow up on improvements.
• Deliver HSSEQ training and regular toolbox talks, and maintain emergency preparedness through drills, equipment inspections and response planning.
• Oversee safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste and ensure security measures for assets, employees and visitors.
• Maintain HSSEQ records, monitor performance indicators and submit monthly management reports.

Required profile

• Not less than 5 years of experience in a managerial position.
• NOSHC 1 or 2, NEBOSH or internal audit qualification.
• International Cyanide Management Code (ICMC) professional certification.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HSSEQ principles, regulatory requirements and transport and logistics best practices.
• Ability to coordinate risk assessments, audits, incident investigations and emergency preparedness.
• Leadership, communication, training and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to analyse performance and drive continuous improvement.
