Storekeeper - Vehicle Garage

About the role

A client of Shugulika Africa Limited is looking for a diligent, detail-oriented Storekeeper to manage inventory in a vehicle garage, covering both new and second-hand solar products and tools. The role supports smooth operations and the mission of delivering sustainable solar solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee incoming and outgoing stock, including new and second-hand solar equipment and tools, ensuring accurate tracking and safe storage.
• Monitor stock levels regularly, anticipate supply needs and coordinate timely replenishment to avoid shortages.
• Maintain up-to-date records of inventory quantities, conditions and locations, using inventory management software for real-time tracking and reporting.
• Inspect incoming goods for quality and accuracy, and manage returns and exchanges of defective or incorrect items.
• Track tools issued to technicians, ensure they are returned and stored properly, and schedule regular maintenance and replacement.
• Work with procurement and technical teams to understand equipment needs and support smooth operations.
• Prepare regular reports on inventory levels, discrepancies and other metrics for management.
• Ensure the storeroom meets safety standards and company policies, and manage waste and recycling in an eco-friendly way.

Required profile

• Diploma in Logistics, Automotive Mechanics, Procurement or a related field.
• Proven experience in store-keeping, inventory management or workshop administration (automotive sector preferred).
• Honest, reliable and detail-oriented.
• Fluent in Kiswahili; working knowledge of English preferred.

Required skills

• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics is an advantage.
• Computer literacy (Excel/Word); inventory software is an added advantage.
