Senior Accountant

About the role

EAGM Tanzania is seeking a highly motivated and experienced finance professional to independently lead and manage the Finance Department. The Senior Accountant will handle financial planning, reporting, statutory compliance, treasury management, budgeting, payroll and provide strategic financial support to the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all finance and accounting operations for EAGM Tanzania.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management accounts.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, financial forecasts and perform variance analysis.
• Produce Management Information System (MIS) reports with insightful financial analysis.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision‑making.
• Oversee daily banking activities, payment approvals and cash‑flow management.
• Monitor and optimise working capital, including receivables, payables and inventory.
• Drive cost‑control initiatives and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
• Conduct financial analysis, variance reporting and performance monitoring against budgets.
• Lead weekly finance meetings to review performance and key metrics.
• Ensure timely preparation and filing of VAT, PAYE, Corporate Tax, SDL and other statutory returns.
• Coordinate TRA audits, statutory audits and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with banks, external auditors, tax consultants and legal advisors.
• Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with company policies.
• Oversee payroll processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger functions.
• Continuously review and improve accounting procedures and financial processes.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and analytical skills.
• Extensive knowledge of Tanzanian tax and financial regulations.
• Highly motivated and experienced finance professional.
