Procurement Specialist

About the role

A client of Shugulika Africa Limited, a leading company in the Energy and Utilities industry, is hiring a Procurement Specialist in Arusha. The role manages sourcing, purchasing and supplier management so the organisation obtains quality goods and services at the best value. It covers strategy development, vendor negotiation, policy compliance and supplier relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet organisational goals.
• Source, evaluate and select suppliers and vendors based on quality, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate contracts, terms and pricing agreements.
• Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality, pricing or delivery issues.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, invoices and supplier information.
• Ensure compliance with organisational policies, legal requirements and ethical standards.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and specifications.
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and assess industry trends.
• Track and report procurement metrics such as cost savings and vendor performance.
