Officer - Branch Coordination & Quality Control

About the role

The Officer – Branch Coordination & Quality Control supports Mwanga Hakika Bank’s internal control framework by overseeing branch and head‑office operational activities. The role ensures compliance with bank policies, regulatory standards, and operational procedures while fostering a risk‑aware culture.

Key responsibilities

• Review the Branch & HQ Control Checklist, document findings and report to the Assistant Manager / Head of Operations.
• Conduct daily reviews of branch general ledger accounts, identify exceptions and assist branches in corrective actions.
• Monitor timely submission of regulator returns and other statutory reports originating from the Operations Department.
• Track Vault and ATM positions/limits daily and promptly escalate any deviations.
• Participate in physical branch visits to verify adherence to internal controls and procedures.
• Analyse daily branch compliance reports and highlight significant issues for management.
• Support reconciliation monitoring within the Operations Department.
• Coordinate with Risk and Compliance on statutory and regulatory matters related to branch and head‑office operations.
• Follow up on closure of Risk, Compliance and Audit issues as directed.
• Validate onboarding activities at branches for compliance with internal manuals and report exceptions.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of control reviews, identified exceptions and follow‑up actions.

Required profile

• First‑degree university qualification in business‑related studies.
• 0–1 year experience in banking operations (branch or head office).
• Solid understanding of banking operations, risk & compliance culture, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce clear reports.
