About the role

WAJAMAMA Family & Women’s Health in Zanzibar is offering a one‑year, full‑time fellowship for a Medical Doctor or Family Nurse Practitioner. The program focuses on comprehensive family and women’s health care, combining clinical practice with community outreach and preventive health initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care for families and women, including consultations, examinations, and treatment planning.
• Manage outpatient services and coordinate in‑home care visits.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
• Lead and participate in community health education, disease‑prevention programs, and wellness outreach.
• Stay current with medical advancements through continuous learning and professional development.
• Contribute to research projects aimed at enhancing practice services and patient care.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor or Nurse Practitioner degree from a recognized institution.
• Valid medical license (candidates from outside Tanzania must be eligible for licensure).
• Strong commitment to holistic, patient‑centered care and health promotion.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in English; Swahili is a plus.
