Matron / Patron – Student Welfare & Residential Care

About the role
The institute is seeking a Matron and a Patron to oversee student welfare and residential care within its hostels. The role combines pastoral support, safety oversight and emergency response to ensure a supportive living environment for students.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day pastoral care and student wellbeing.
- Ensure the safety and welfare of students in the hostels.
- Respond to medical emergencies and incidents.
- Conduct regular inspections of hostel facilities.
- Maintain student, facility and inventory records.
- Support incident reporting and crisis management.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to maintain a safe, supportive residential environment.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Education, Social Work, Psychology or a related field.
- Experience in a similar role is advantageous; fresh graduates may also apply.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, counselling and conflict‑resolution abilities.
- Good understanding of student welfare, accommodation policies and safeguarding.
- English language proficiency and Tanzanian nationality.
