Logistics Tracking Coordinator

About the role

A client of Shugulika Africa Limited is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Tracking Coordinator in Dar es Salaam to oversee the real-time movement of trucks through the Vehicle Tracking System (VTS). The role ensures timely deliveries, supports operational efficiency and safety, and keeps drivers and senior management aligned.

Key responsibilities

• Track and monitor truck movements in real time using the VTS to ensure timely deliveries.
• Plot truck movements and related data into Excel spreadsheets accurately.
• Create daily, weekly and monthly reports on truck movements, delivery times and schedule deviations.
• Analyze tracking data to spot patterns, delays and areas for improvement.
• Maintain regular contact with drivers to collect updates and give them information.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in truck movements quickly.
• Report findings to senior management and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field (not mandatory).
• At least 1 year of experience in logistics tracking or a similar role.
• Good spoken Swahili and English.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work accurately.
• Office-based role with occasional visits to warehouses or transport hubs; rotational 3-shift schedule (morning, day and night) with possible extended hours during peak periods.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, pivot tables and charts.
• Familiarity with Vehicle Tracking Systems (VTS).
• Data entry and analysis experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
