Junior Cashier

About the role

A client of Shugulika Africa Limited, one of Tanzania's leading manufacturers of skin care, squash and oral care products, is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Junior Cashier to join its Finance Department. The role supports daily financial operations by handling cash transactions, keeping accurate records and helping the finance team ensure compliant processes across the manufacturing business.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process payments from customers, suppliers and internal departments (cash, cheque, mobile money)
• Issue official receipts and keep proper documentation of all transactions
• Reconcile daily cash collections and prepare bank deposit summaries
• Assist in managing petty cash and prepare replenishment reports
• Support the accounts team with invoice verification and payment tracking
• Maintain confidentiality and security of financial data and documents
• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and company policies
• Report any discrepancies or irregularities to the Senior Accountant or Finance Manager

Required profile

• Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• 1-2 years of experience in a cashier or finance support role, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Strong attention to detail, good communication and interpersonal skills, and a high level of integrity and discretion

• Accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks or ERP systems
