I&E Documentation Specialist

About the role

The I&E Documentation Specialist is responsible for managing the entire import customs declaration process in Tanzania. You will ensure accurate classification, documentation, and compliance with local customs regulations while supporting the logistics team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and audit import customs declarations, handling all steps from filing to tax payment and release.
• Classify goods using HS codes, referencing Tanzanian/EAC tariff schedules.
• Audit invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin and other documents for regulatory compliance.
• Operate the customs clearance system independently and resolve any abnormalities such as valuation or coding issues.
• Maintain accurate records of taxes, fees, customs status, and related data.
• Monitor changes in Tanzanian customs policies and flag high‑risk regulations or price anomalies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in international trade, logistics, customs, supply chain or related fields.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in customs clearance, declaration, or documentation within Tanzania.
• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian import procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Attention to detail, high responsibility, and strong risk awareness.
