Housekeeping Manager – Luxury Beach Resort

About the role

Kendwa Rocks Beach Hotel is looking for an experienced Housekeeping Manager to lead one of its largest operational departments. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation across guest rooms, public spaces, beach areas and laundry operations, ensuring an exceptional guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train, schedule and supervise a large housekeeping team.
• Ensure guest rooms, VIP rooms and public areas meet hotel cleanliness standards.
• Oversee beach area upkeep, including furniture, pathways, towels and waste management.
• Manage all laundry functions, from linen and guest laundry to uniform care and chemical usage.
• Control linen and uniform inventories, repairs and stock counts.
• Conduct daily quality inspections and implement corrective actions.
• Identify maintenance issues and coordinate with the Maintenance department.
• Handle guest requests and complaints professionally.
• Maintain inventories, purchasing and stock control for housekeeping supplies.
• Prepare and manage departmental budgets while controlling costs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene and environmental regulations.
• Support sustainability initiatives such as water conservation and recycling.
• Produce operational reports on inspections, productivity, maintenance and guest feedback.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing large housekeeping teams in a hotel or resort setting.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other hotel departments.
• Good knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations.
