Health, Safety and Environmental Officer

About the role

The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Officer will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE programs across our operations. This role ensures compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards while fostering a strong safety culture.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and refine HSE policies, procedures and best practices.
• Conduct workplace risk assessments and recommend corrective actions.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near‑misses, producing detailed reports.
• Monitor safety performance trends and propose improvement initiatives.
• Perform regular safety audits, inspections and compliance checks.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, reports and documentation.
• Identify training needs and deliver internal safety awareness sessions.
• Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
• Develop, review and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Support management in achieving HSE objectives and continuous improvement targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, IOSH) or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of practical experience in an HSE role, preferably in agricultural, manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation, risk management and incident investigation.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
