Geologist 2 – Exploration Technical (Geita Gold Mine)

About the role

We are looking for a Geologist 2 – Exploration Technical to join our team at the Geita Gold Mine in Tanzania. The role involves designing and managing project‑based exploration work plans, monitoring their execution, and delivering technical interpretation and geological modelling to support resource growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement exploration work plans and programs, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Monitor progress, coordinate junior geologists and field teams, and report to senior geologists or the Exploration Superintendent.
• Integrate geological data for target consolidation, ranking and evaluation within and beyond GGM concessions.
• Develop short‑term exploration programs that feed into the annual budget and drive knowledge acquisition.
• Supervise reconnaissance and resource conversion drilling programmes as directed.
• Analyse and interpret data to produce 3D geological models that define targets and guide follow‑up work.
• Apply and enforce departmental safety operating procedures, reporting any incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Understanding of the exploration process map, including associated hazards and risks.
• Ability to coordinate resources, supervise field teams and provide clear feedback.
• Experience in preparing work plans, budgets and execution strategies for exploration projects.
• Commitment to safety standards and company values.
