Fleet & Safety Supervisor

About the role

The Fleet & Safety Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operational site’s fleet and safety management services, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, road transport regulations and corporate policies. The role works closely with multiple stakeholders to maintain sustainable fleet standards and embed a strong safety culture across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with the OHS Act and Road Traffic Act, conducting daily inspections of trucks, trailers, forklifts and other equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance job cards, licensing history and pre‑trip inspections.
• Report daily fleet availability and manage spare‑part inventory, including tyre levels.
• Execute DPO Fleet and Safety pillars through self‑assessments, zone audits and asset verification.
• Develop and enforce site standards to minimise losses and meet legal requirements (OHS, Environmental, COVID).
• Control expenditure against budget and oversee workshop safety, 5S practices and SOP compliance.
• Promote and embed safety culture, SHE programmes and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant three‑year tertiary degree or diploma.
• 2–3 years of experience in fleet management or related functional role.
• Strong understanding of vehicle‑specific maintenance requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
