Fleet Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Operations Manager to lead day‑to‑day fleet and logistics activities in Tanzania. The successful candidate will oversee vehicle allocation, driver coordination, maintenance planning, and performance monitoring to ensure efficient, cost‑effective deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the vehicle fleet and delivery logistics.
• Supervise drivers, dispatch teams, fleet coordinators and other operational staff.
• Plan vehicle allocation, routing, dispatch schedules and delivery requirements.
• Monitor fleet utilization, vehicle availability, turnaround times and delivery performance.
• Ensure preventive and scheduled maintenance is completed on time.
• Track fuel consumption, mileage, maintenance expenses and other operating costs.
• Collect and report operational KPIs to senior management.
• Enforce driver compliance with safety standards and company policies.
• Handle operational issues such as breakdowns, delays and emergencies.
• Coordinate with external vendors, workshops and suppliers.
• Identify and implement improvements to boost productivity and reduce costs.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of proven experience in fleet management, transportation or logistics.
• Hands‑on experience managing vehicle fleets, drivers and dispatch operations.
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
• Good communication and coordination capabilities.
• Willingness to relocate to Tanzania and work in an overseas setting.
