Fleet Operations Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Operations Manager to lead day‑to‑day fleet and logistics activities in Tanzania. The successful candidate will oversee vehicle allocation, driver supervision, dispatch coordination, maintenance scheduling and performance reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the vehicle fleet and delivery/logistics functions.
• Supervise drivers, dispatch teams, fleet coordinators and other operational staff.
• Plan vehicle allocation, routes, dispatch schedules and delivery requirements.
• Monitor fleet utilization, vehicle availability, turnaround times and delivery performance.
• Ensure preventive and scheduled maintenance is completed on time to minimise breakdowns.
• Track fuel consumption, mileage, maintenance expenses and other operating costs.
• Measure operational KPIs and prepare regular performance reports for senior management.
• Enforce driver compliance with company policies, safety standards and operational procedures.
• Handle operational issues such as vehicle breakdowns, delivery delays, driver concerns and emergencies.
• Coordinate with maintenance vendors, workshops, suppliers and other external partners.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve fleet productivity, reduce costs and enhance delivery efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicles, drivers, maintenance, fuel, incidents and performance.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of proven experience in fleet management, transportation, delivery or logistics operations.
• Hands‑on experience managing vehicle fleets, drivers, dispatch operations and maintenance scheduling.
• Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Good understanding of fleet utilization, cost control, route planning and operational efficiency.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in an overseas operational environment; preference for Indian or Filipino nationals.
