Financial Accountant

About the role

Our client, a leading agricultural company in Tanzania, is looking for a qualified and detail‑oriented Financial Accountant to join the finance team in Kilombero. Reporting to the Financial Manager, you will ensure accurate financial records, compliance with IFRS and tax regulations, and support effective decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage the general ledger, journals, accruals, fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Reconcile GL, sub‑ledger, bank and inter‑company accounts.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Prepare and submit statutory tax returns (VAT, PAYE, Withholding Tax).
• Maintain internal controls and support internal and external audits.
• Handle foreign currency reconciliations and exchange‑rate adjustments.
• Oversee inventory accounting, stock provision calculations and reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow reports.
• Supervise and guide finance team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification such as CPA (T), ACCA or CIMA.
• Minimum three years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation and internal controls.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
