Finance Manager

About the role

Shugulika Africa Limited is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant / Finance Manager to oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, statutory compliance and the finance team in a manufacturing environment. The role supports the CFO in achieving the organisation's financial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting and finance operations and maintain accurate financial records in Tally Prime Gold.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of sales, EFD reports, VAT returns and related statutory records.
• Prepare and submit monthly MIS reports, P&L statements, balance sheets and other financial reports.
• Oversee general ledger accounting and supervise the finance team on expense booking, receivables and payables.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing, and ensure timely filing and payment of statutory obligations.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and resolve audit findings.
• Monitor receivables, payables and cash flow, and maintain internal controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, and provide financial analysis to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• CPA (T), ACCA or equivalent professional qualification is mandatory.
• Minimum 5-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Proven experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Experience managing finance teams and accounting operations.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax regulations and statutory compliance.
• Advanced hands-on experience with Tally Prime Gold, including GL management, statutory reporting, inventory accounting, VAT reconciliations, financial reporting and month-end close.
