Finance and Operations Manager

About the role

RTIRTI International is seeking a Finance and Operations Manager to support a five‑year NIMH‑funded research study on HIV stigma reduction in Tanzania. Based in Dar es Salaam, you will ensure that all financial, statutory, and logistical functions are delivered efficiently and in compliance with RTIRTI and NIMH requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee finance, human resources, logistics, procurement, administration, and IT support for the project.
• Ensure compliance with RTIRTI policies, NIMH grant regulations, and Tanzanian statutory requirements.
• Coordinate budgeting, disbursement, monitoring, and reporting with principal investigators, research coordinators, consultants, and partner institutions.
• Maintain strong internal controls and cost‑effectiveness throughout the project lifecycle.
• Report directly to the Project Manager in Nairobi and collaborate closely with site staff in Dar es Salaam.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing finance and operations for large, complex research or grant‑funded projects.
• Strong knowledge of financial compliance, procurement procedures, and HR administration.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, including academic, governmental, and non‑profit partners.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
