Filtration Plant Operator

About the role

The Filtration Plant Operator will join Barrick's Africa Middle East team to oversee the safe and efficient operation of the water filtration facility. This role is essential for maintaining water quality standards, supporting plant performance, and upholding the company's commitment to zero harm and sustainable legacy.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee daily plant operations, including startup, shutdown, and routine equipment handling.
• Identify and resolve operational problems while ensuring strict adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, and preventative maintenance activities.
• Track flows, feed processes, and water quality parameters to keep the plant within acceptable limits.
• Collect and analyze influent, processing, and effluent water samples using chemical, physical, and bacteriological methods.
• Maintain laboratory inventory, equipment, and accurate log‑books for all tests and operational data.
• Report health, safety, and environmental issues to supervisors and engineering staff promptly.

Required profile

• Diploma in Water Resources or a related field.
• Experience in operating or supporting water treatment or filtration facilities.
• Strong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement.
