Work Management Planner

About the role

The Work Management Planner will join the Asset Management & Engineering team at the Geita Gold Mine, supporting the planning and execution of work orders to ensure safe, cost‑effective delivery of mining operations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the Plan Work element of the Business Process Framework.
• Review work orders, notifications and task status daily to prioritize and track upcoming work.
• Plan approved work orders and notifications, securing resources and execution before required dates.
• Collaborate with execution teams, incorporating their input into planning packages.
• Obtain sign‑off on work packages from senior supervisors or first‑line managers.
• Identify and escalate critical issues that could jeopardise timely completion.
• Optimize work plans to minimise impact on operating performance and resource demand while meeting required dates.
• Specify resources according to the AGA Work Management Process Flow Chart and initiate orders within cost tolerances.
• Ensure work packages comply with legislation, standards, policies and authority levels.
• Develop standard work packages to improve planning efficiency.
• Support scheduling by ensuring all required resources are planned.
• Liaise with services, process plant, mining operations, geology and other departments regarding equipment, tools and materials availability.
• Create and review work packages with risk assessments and control measures.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems and procedures for greater effectiveness.

Required profile

• Experience in work planning within engineering or mining environments.
• Strong focus on safety and zero‑injury outcomes.
• Ability to manage resources and costs efficiently.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication and coordination with cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to adhere to established processes and regulatory requirements.
