Field Enumerator – Data Collector for Oral Health Survey

About the role

The Tanzania Health Environment and Development Initiatives (THEDI) is conducting a rapid evaluation of its oral health outreach programmes in Misungwi District. We are looking for motivated individuals to join the team as Field Enumerators for an eight‑day data collection mission.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct face‑to‑face interviews with community members using mobile data collection tools.
• Perform spot checks to verify the reach and retention of oral health messages.
• Enter data accurately and synchronize it daily with the supervisory team.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards during all field interactions.
• Participate in a mandatory pre‑enumeration training session.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health, Statistics or a related field.
• Fluency in Swahili and English; knowledge of local languages in Misungwi is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently in rural settings.
• Preference given to candidates residing in Misungwi or Mwanza.

Required skills

• Proficiency with smartphones or tablets for data capture.
• Experience using digital data collection software such as ODK or KoboToolbox.
