Executive Director of Operations

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional hospitality and safari leader to provide executive oversight across our portfolio of lodges, camps and safari businesses in Tanzania. Reporting to the CEO, you will shape strategy, drive performance and ensure unforgettable guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Set operational direction for all safari, lodge and hospitality assets, translating strategy into execution.
• Own portfolio‑wide performance using financial, guest, people and operational insights.
• Design operating models, systems, standards and governance to support scalable growth.
• Hold senior operational leaders accountable for service excellence, productivity and cost discipline.
• Oversee end‑to‑end guest journey delivery, ensuring brand promise is met at every touchpoint.
• Strengthen margins, productivity and cost efficiency while protecting guest experience quality.
• Prioritise maintenance, refurbishment and capital projects to protect long‑term assets.
• Lead major transformation initiatives, new ventures, technology adoption and strategic projects.
• Develop a high‑performing senior leadership team and succession pipeline.

Required profile

• Proven executive experience in hospitality, tourism or related high‑end service sectors.
• Track record of driving operational excellence and profitable growth.
• Strong leadership skills with ability to inspire and develop senior teams.
• Strategic thinker who can balance long‑term vision with day‑to‑day execution.
