About the role
The Enterprise Banker will deliver financial services to business customers, promoting and selling tailored financial solutions while meeting sales targets and regulatory requirements. This role combines proactive client acquisition, relationship management, and credit facilitation within Absa's Enterprise Banking division.
Key responsibilities
- Provide sales and service to Business Banking customers, dedicating roughly 50% of time to client interaction.
- Open enterprise banking accounts and guide customers through product campaigns.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, promoting relevant products and services.
- Generate and follow up on leads via face‑to‑face meetings, branch visits, or telephone.
- Initiate client credit applications in line with Absa Africa SME lending guidelines and support the commercial credit team.
- Conduct financial analysis and statement reviews for loan proposals.
- Maintain accurate sales performance statistics and report account openings, denials, and customer inquiries.
- Collaborate with branch staff to refer customers to the Enterprise Banker when appropriate.
Required profile
- Strong customer‑focused mindset with ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Good understanding of banking products, credit processes, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills for both in‑person and telephone interactions.
- Ability to analyse financial statements and assess creditworthiness.
