Engineering Storekeeper

About the role

The Engineering Storekeeper at Four Seasons Serengeti manages, stores, issues and tracks all engineering spare parts, tools, consumables, equipment and maintenance materials. The role ensures stock accountability, inventory accuracy, cost control and compliance with company policy, and may support the Engineering team with general maintenance when required.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the Engineering Store clean, organized, secure and safe, and keep storerooms locked when unattended.
• Receive, inspect and verify incoming materials against purchase orders, invoices and delivery notes, then label, code and rotate stock.
• Set minimum and maximum stock levels, issue materials only against approved requisitions, and track consumption trends.
• Conduct daily, monthly, quarterly and annual inventory counts, reconcile variances and keep perpetual inventory records.
• Prepare monthly inventory and usage reports for Finance and Engineering management, and identify slow-moving or obsolete stock.
• Support procurement by preparing requisitions and quotations, coordinate with Purchasing, investigate purchase order discrepancies and assist in internal and external audits.
• Maintain maintenance logs, assist with energy conservation, and comply with health and safety policies, including safe handling of hazardous materials.

Required profile

• Tanzanian citizenship only; visa sponsorship and work permits are not available.
• High school certificate required; a certificate or diploma in engineering, mechanical, electrical, procurement, supply chain, logistics, stores management or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in engineering storekeeping, inventory management, purchasing, hospitality, construction, manufacturing or a related industry.
• Good written and spoken English, as email communication is crucial.

Required skills

• Inventory control and stock management, and ability to prepare inventory reports and reconcile stock.
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
• Numerical and analytical skills, strong organization and record keeping.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with several departments; ability to lift and handle materials safely.

Key performance indicators include inventory accuracy above 98%, stock variances within approved limits, timely replenishment of critical spare parts, zero unauthorized stock issues, and compliance with audit and internal control requirements.
