Deputy Principal – International School

About the role

The Deputy Principal will join Renie International Schools in Dar es Salaam as a full‑time, on‑site leader. Working closely with the Principal, you will help shape the strategic direction and day‑to‑day operations of a Cambridge International school that serves students from Pre‑School through IGCSE.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Principal in strategic and operational management, including academic planning and curriculum delivery.
• Oversee daily teaching and learning, coordinate assessments and ensure alignment with Cambridge International standards.
• Supervise, mentor and develop teaching staff; lead professional development programmes.
• Promote inclusive practices and collaborate with the Special Educational Needs department.
• Manage student discipline, well‑being and pastoral care, including involvement in boarding life.
• Maintain effective communication with families and uphold a safe, positive school culture.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership and management experience in a school setting.
• Strong academic and curriculum expertise, preferably with Cambridge International or British programmes.
• Proven ability in pastoral care and supporting diverse learning profiles.
• Excellent organisational, planning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field; Master’s degree highly advantageous.
• Previous senior leadership or middle‑management role (e.g., Head of Department, Deputy Head) in an international or comparable school.
• Understanding of boarding school operations and willingness to be actively involved.
