Customer Service Advisor Intern – Cash & ATM Operations

About the role

The Customer Service Advisor Intern will support daily cash‑handling operations at a branch in Zanzibar, assisting walk‑in customers and ensuring smooth ATM and vault management. This role offers hands‑on experience in banking services, cash management and customer interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Process cash and cheque transactions, including withdrawals, deposits and foreign currency sales.
• Supervise and assist other tellers at the cash counter, balancing tills and grooming vouchers for back‑office processing.
• Provide referral services for bank products and handle general customer enquiries.
• Manage customer queries and complaints, taking ownership and resolving issues promptly.
• Maintain cash levels in the strong room, sort and repatriate cash, and order cash from the provider within set limits.
• Act as co‑custodian for vault operations, ensuring teller and vault interactions are properly balanced before branch close.
• Restock and reconcile ATM cash, perform minor fault repairs, and coordinate with maintenance for larger issues.
• Monitor ATM uptime, visit ATMs on non‑working days, and report any operational problems.

Required profile

• Ability to deliver excellent customer service at the branch counter.
• Willingness to take ownership of customer queries and complaints.
• Interest in learning cash‑handling, vault and ATM operations.
