Consultant to Support Resource Mobilization Initiatives

About the role

The Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC) seeks a consultant to strengthen its resource mobilization efforts over a seven‑month period. The consultant will work closely with LHRC staff and the board to develop funding proposals, coordinate fundraising events, and enhance the organisation’s financial sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Implement LHRC’s resource mobilization strategy and action plan.
• Prepare and provide guidance on grant proposals and concept notes aligned with LHRC’s thematic priorities.
• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual resource mobilisation reports for management and the board.
• Plan, manage and coordinate resource mobilisation events and donor engagements.
• Deliver capacity‑building sessions for staff and board members on fundraising techniques.
• Lead resource mobilisation committee meetings and track progress.
• Research and identify new funding opportunities that match LHRC’s mission.

Required profile

• Proven experience in resource mobilisation, grant writing or fundraising for NGOs.
• Strong understanding of human‑rights and good‑governance contexts, preferably in Tanzania.
• Excellent written communication skills for proposal development and reporting.
• Ability to train and mentor staff and board members.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
