Communications Specialist

About the role

Support the execution of the country marketing and communication strategy to protect, strengthen, and grow the corporate and brand reputation of MultiChoice CANAL+ Africa in Tanzania. Deliver consistent, credible, and compliant communication across internal, external and media channels aligned with Group and Africa‑regional strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and coordinate press releases, media statements and briefing materials; support media engagement and respond to routine media queries.
• Prepare and distribute internal communications, manage intranet, email newsletters and town‑hall announcements.
• Create and edit content for external, internal and digital platforms, ensuring brand guidelines and editorial quality.
• Support communication activities for campaigns, product launches and events, including logistics and post‑campaign reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Group communication policies, maintain records and support crisis communication as directed.
• Compile performance metrics, track media coverage, sentiment and engagement, and provide insights for improvement.
• Collaborate with Marketing, HR, Commercial, Legal and Regulatory teams and liaise with external agencies.

Required profile

• Diploma in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or a related field; a bachelor’s degree is advantageous.
• 3–5 years of experience in corporate communications, PR or media‑related roles.
• Proven experience in content development and media support.
• Exposure to consumer‑facing, media, telecommunications or regulated environments is advantageous.
• Experience working in structured organisations with approval and governance processes.
