Chef for 5‑Star Hotel in Zanzibar

About the role

Iberostar Group is seeking an experienced Chef to lead the Kitchen department of its new 5‑star property, Iberostar Selection Zanzibar, located in Muyuni, Matemwe. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality gastronomic experiences while ensuring food safety and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all kitchen services, guaranteeing the quality of food and service for guests and hotel staff.
• Support service during peak periods and respond to guest inquiries, complaints, and compliments.
• Analyze customer survey results and implement improvement actions.
• Maintain kitchen facilities and equipment, manage daily inventory and weekly food orders.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation plans, health and quality audits, and staff safety protocols.
• Oversee waste management and receive supplier deliveries.
• Lead, select, train, and evaluate the kitchen team, scheduling shifts, absences, and vacations.
• Collaborate with the hotel director on the annual budget and monitor expenses.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills and a strong customer orientation.
• Relevant culinary education.
• Minimum two years of experience in a similar chef or kitchen‑management role.
• English proficiency at B2 level; additional languages are a plus.
