Assistant Stock Accountant

About the role

The Assistant Stock Accountant supports the finance team in managing fuel and lubricant inventory accounting. The role ensures accurate invoicing, stock reconciliation, and compliance with internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare fuel and lubricant invoices for processing by the SSC.
• Support the SSC team in completing various accounting transactions.
• Calculate daily movement average price (MAP) for products.
• Reconcile vendor accounts and perform general‑ledger (GL) reconciliations.
• Conduct month‑end stock taking, identify variances, and process adjustments in SAP after management approval.
• Post fixed charges, amortization, and local costs related to imported products.
• Capture VAT on imported lubricants and reconcile product borrow/loan arrangements with other OMCs.
• Review inventory transactions for completeness and accuracy, and generate monthly adjustment reports.
• Perform monthly GL analysis and follow up on priority accounting controls (CCP).
• Respond to inventory queries from external and TRA auditors and process fuel reception and MI losses in SAP.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting.
• 2–3 years of experience in a finance department.
• Proficiency with computer applications and strong attention to detail.
