Assistant Mechanical Technician

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Mechanical Technician to support the maintenance, repair and installation of production machines in a food processing environment. The role ensures smooth factory operations, minimizes downtime and maintains safe working conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist technicians and maintenance teams with machine maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and installation.
• Support the setup and installation of production equipment and maintenance tools.
• Carry out preventive maintenance according to schedules and operational needs.
• Clean, lubricate and inspect machines regularly to ensure proper functionality.
• Replace damaged parts and perform basic repairs.
• Transport tools, spare parts and materials required for maintenance activities.
• Monitor machine performance and promptly report abnormalities or safety concerns.
• Support production teams during breakdowns to reduce downtime.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in workshops and machine areas.
• Follow safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
• Maintain maintenance records and update supervisors on completed tasks.
• Assist with electrical, mechanical and utility maintenance as assigned.

Required profile

• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge.
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a technician in an industrial production setting.
• Ability to use hand tools and maintenance equipment.
• Strong attention to safety and operational procedures.
• Good communication, teamwork and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to learn and follow technical instructions.
