About the role

Join a leading family‑owned hospitality group as the Assistant Maintenance Manager for a new 5‑star beachfront resort in Zanzibar. You will support the Maintenance Manager in keeping the hotel’s facilities, equipment, and infrastructure operating safely and efficiently, ensuring an exceptional guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Manager in organizing, directing, and coordinating the maintenance team.
• Train staff on compliance with regulations, internal policies, and standard operating procedures.
• Take charge of the department in the manager’s absence, overseeing routine, preventive, and corrective tasks.
• Maintain facilities and machinery, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
• Install and maintain protection devices for people and property.
• Control repair, modification, and maintenance costs while supervising external contractors.
• Propose equipment and facility improvements in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager.
• Perform electrical, plumbing, sanitation, and general repair tasks.
• Monitor energy consumption, performance, and profitability to ensure continuous supply.

Required profile

• Motivated team player eager to learn and grow.
• Minimum 2 years experience as an Assistant Maintenance Manager (or 2nd‑in‑charge) in a hotel maintenance department.
• Strong technical knowledge of electricity and/or plumbing.
• Relevant technical training for the role.
