Accounts Officer

About the role

Shugulika Africa Limited is hiring a full-time Accounts Officer in Dar es Salaam to support the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the business. The role covers accurate financial record keeping, timely statutory compliance and efficient handling of financial transactions, in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record and process purchase transactions accurately and on time.
• Manage petty cash and imprest accounts.
• Collect, verify and enter financial data into the accounting system.
• Prepare, review and post vouchers and invoices in Tally ERP.
• Prepare and submit statutory returns and remittances including PAYE, SDL, WHT, VAT, NSSF, WCF and NHIF.
• Liaise with statutory authorities, banks, auditors and other stakeholders.
• Maintain filing and archive systems, support reconciliations and month-end activities, and perform other duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• CPA (T) qualification or progress towards it is an advantage.
• Minimum 2-4 years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of Tanzanian tax regulations and statutory compliance requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Tally ERP.
• Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
