Accountant – Import & Export Operations

About the role

CNS Group is looking for a qualified Accountant to manage the financial side of its import and export activities. Based in Dar es Salaam, you will ensure accurate accounting for logistics, customs, and trade‑related costs while supporting the company’s international trade operations.

Key responsibilities

• Record and reconcile shipping costs, customs duties, clearing and forwarding fees, tariffs, and demurrage charges.
• Process vendor and supplier invoices, perform freight reconciliations, and verify shipping documents against financial ledgers.
• Prepare periodic financial statements, monitor operational expenditures, and analyse cost variances for import and export cycles.
• Calculate and file VAT on imports and withholding taxes, ensuring compliance with Tanzanian tax regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• Professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is an advantage.
• Proven experience in corporate accounting with a focus on logistics, clearing and forwarding, or import/export operations.
