Underwriting Credit Analyst – Credit Risk

About the role

The Underwriting Credit Analyst is a core member of Citi's Institutional Credit Management (ICM) team. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality credit risk analysis, monitoring, and administration for large corporate, public sector, and financial institution clients.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the credit and financial strength of complex large corporate, public sector, and financial institution clients using quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Prepare credit analysis write‑ups and assign internal credit risk ratings based on independent due‑diligence.
• Continuously monitor the assigned portfolio, track industry trends, and flag potential credit issues to underwriters, risk, and banking partners.
• Collaborate with regional and industry stakeholders to implement credit assessment and monitoring standards.
• Support ad‑hoc portfolio and industry reviews, stress testing, and other business‑unit initiatives.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of credit experience in banking, credit risk management, or a related financial services role.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret financial statements, liquidity positions, leverage profiles, and cash‑flow dynamics.
• Experience with public sector, corporate, or financial institution risk analysis is a plus.
• Advanced industry research capabilities and the ability to identify key risk drivers.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
