Head of Internal Audit – Dar es Salaam

About the role

CVPeople Tanzania is looking for a Head of Internal Audit to lead the audit function in its Dar es Salaam office. The role provides independent assurance, evaluates internal controls and drives risk‑based audit strategies across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an annual risk‑based internal audit plan covering all operational and financial areas.
• Assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and risk‑management processes.
• Prepare clear, actionable audit reports for senior management and the board, highlighting findings and recommended improvements.
• Monitor compliance with internal policies, statutory regulations and relevant auditing standards.
• Advise on governance matters and support the enhancement of control frameworks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CIA or equivalent.
• Significant experience in internal or external auditing, including senior managerial or leadership responsibilities.
• Strong analytical ability and deep understanding of corporate governance.
