Underground Shift Boss – Mining Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for an Underground (UG) Shift Boss to lead our underground mining crews. The role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient operations while upholding Barrick’s core values and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise underground crews and delegate daily tasks.
• Ensure compliance with the Mines Act, safety and environmental standards.
• Communicate procedures and standards to all site personnel.
• Assist in staffing and equipment sourcing for the mine and related departments.
• Prioritize work, monitor progress and provide leadership to achieve production targets.
• Maintain regular communication with the Mine Manager and other supervisors.
• Support accident/incident investigations and conduct induction and safety training for new employees.
• Ensure team participation in safety initiatives and training programs.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience in mining operations.
• Previous supervisory experience in an underground mine, preferably with track mining methods.
• Strong organizational, communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Solid safety background with the ability to promote a safe working environment.
• Proficiency in reading drawings and following specifications.
• Fluent English (written and verbal) and a valid driver’s licence.
