Supervisor, Underground Mining (Production)

About the role

We are looking for a Supervisor to lead underground production activities at the Geita Gold Mine in Tanzania. The role ensures safe, efficient drilling, stope preparation and haulage while maintaining high standards of environmental and operational compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Verify critical safety controls, PPE and Take‑5 compliance; conduct inspections, toolbox talks and manage incident reporting.
• Supervise production drilling, slot raises, V30 holes, stope preparation, charging and bogging, including the use of remote boggers.
• Manage haulage operations to meet truck cycle‑time targets, oversee loading, level call‑ups, scaling, service retraction and installation of barricades and signage.
• Prepare accurate PLODs and end‑of‑shift reports to ensure smooth hand‑over to the incoming supervisor.
• Coordinate with dispatch and lamproom for breakdown capture, PPE distribution, stock control and equipment meetings.
• Maintain roadways, sumps, housekeeping, waste segregation, dust and spill control, and protect local flora and fauna.

Required profile

• Completion of secondary school; a diploma or certificate in Mining Engineering is a plus.
• 3‑5 years of experience in underground mining, with hands‑on knowledge of underground operations.
• Physical and mental fitness for demanding underground work.
• Valid Tanzania driving licence and blasting licence.

Required skills

• Manual vehicle driving.
• Operation of underground machines (service‑crew level).
• Explosives handling and management.
• Work risk assessment processes.
• Ability to read work plans and mining instructions.
