Technical Specialist – HME Maintenance (Underground)

About the role

AngloGold Ashanti is seeking a Technical Specialist for Heavy Mining Equipment (HME) maintenance at its Geita Gold Mine in Tanzania. The role focuses on diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, performing breakdown repairs, and ensuring the reliability of underground mining fleets while coaching local technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems on heavy underground mining equipment.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and coaching to Tanzanian mechanics in line with development plans.
• Prepare detailed repair reports with photographic evidence and maintain accurate documentation.
• Support the maintenance team to meet work schedules and optimise equipment availability.
• Advise supervisors on technical issues and develop scopes for major underground works.
• Ensure all work complies with OEM requirements and best installation practices.
