Control Room Operator – Gold Processing Plant

About the role

Perseus Mining (Tanzania) Limited (SMLC) is looking for an experienced Control Room Operator to manage and optimise the performance of its gold processing plant. The role involves monitoring plant operations, providing real‑time feedback to supervisors and ensuring safety and environmental standards are met.

Key responsibilities

• Control, monitor and optimise plant performance using SCADA and multiple display screens.
• Maintain safety, environmental and community compliance by following company policies and reporting any issues.
• Train and develop processing personnel, ensure they are competent and promote a strong safety culture.
• Perform operational checks, housekeeping of the control room and maintain PC, monitor and UPS equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years experience in control room operations, preferably in gold processing plants.
• Form 4 education level or higher.
• Certificate of training for process plant circuits (desired).
• Tanzanian driving licence (desired).

Required skills

• SCADA expertise.
• Strong computer operation skills.
• Professional radio operation.
• Maintenance of PCs, monitors and UPS units.
