Tax Management Supervisor

About the role

The Tax Management Supervisor will lead the company’s tax function, ensuring accurate filing, compliance with Tanzanian tax regulations, and effective coordination with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA). This role combines hands‑on tax processing with strategic advisory responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, organize and archive export‑related documentation such as assessments, C2 forms and movement sheets on a monthly basis.
• Prepare and submit tax filings (VAT, WHT, Service Levy, CIT, Stamp Duty) within statutory deadlines.
• Perform daily reconciliations between SAP data and VAT filing figures, and produce weekly variance reports.
• Analyse new tax policies and provide professional tax advice aligned with business operations.
• Coordinate with the TRA for annual tax audits and special inspections, ensuring timely completion.
• Conduct regular self‑reviews of accounting and tax records to identify and mitigate tax‑related risks.
• Undertake other tasks as assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Economics or a related field.
• 6–8 years of experience in taxation, including at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or head‑of‑tax role for a company with turnover above USD 100 million.
• Proven experience independently managing tax audits with the TRA, with concrete case examples.
• Professional qualification such as Tanzanian CPA or ACCA.
