Tax Accountant – Full-time – Dar es Salaam

About the role

The successful candidate will manage tax compliance, reporting, reconciliations and tax‑related accounting activities for the mining operation, ensuring adherence to corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax and transfer pricing obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review corporate income tax returns, calculations and supporting schedules.
• Manage indirect tax obligations, including VAT/GST, withholding tax and payroll‑related taxes.
• Perform monthly and annual tax reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate tax accounting records.
• Assist with tax provisions, deferred tax calculations and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and support tax audits and enquiries from authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field.
• 3–5+ years of tax accounting experience, preferably in mining, oil & gas or other extractive industries.
• Professional qualifications such as CPA(T) or ACCA are an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP.
• Experience using Oracle financial modules.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics for tax accounting.
