About the role
NTU International is seeking a Senior Youth Employment / Skills Development Expert to lead youth‑focused employment and training initiatives within an EU‑funded technical assistance project for ECOWAS transport governance. The role will shape programmes that enhance workforce capacity across transport, logistics, infrastructure and digital systems in West Africa.
Key responsibilities
- Support the design and rollout of youth employment and skills development programmes linked to transport and infrastructure sectors.
- Provide technical assistance on vocational training, professional development and capacity‑building activities.
- Conduct labour‑market and skills‑gap assessments for transport, logistics, infrastructure and digital systems.
- Develop youth‑oriented training curricula, internship schemes and employment initiatives.
- Advise ECOWAS institutions and Member States on youth inclusion strategies and skills‑development frameworks.
- Promote participation of young professionals and technical graduates in regional transport projects.
- Prepare skills‑development strategies, training curricula, employment analyses and policy recommendations.
- Coordinate with universities, training institutes, public authorities, private sector partners and development agencies.
- Deliver workshops, consultations and capacity‑building sessions.
- Support monitoring, reporting and evaluation of youth and skills‑development activities.
Required profile
- Master’s degree in education, labour economics, human‑resource development, social sciences, public policy or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in youth employment, vocational training, skills development or workforce capacity‑building.
- Proven experience on development, infrastructure or social‑inclusion projects in developing countries, preferably Sub‑Saharan Africa.
- Experience with international development cooperation and donor‑funded programmes.
- At least 7 years of experience specifically in youth employment, technical training, vocational education or professional skills development initiatives.
