Relationship Manager SME

About the role

The Relationship Manager SME will support the Head of SME Banking in achieving revenue and productivity targets while delivering excellent service to SME clients. This senior position involves leading a team of Relationship Officers, overseeing loan applications, and ensuring compliance with risk and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve asset targets by managing a team of Relationship Officers and offering a wide range of SME banking products.
• Develop and coach a high‑performing sales team through talent management and specialized training programs.
• Monitor daily scorecards, financial reviews, call reports and pipeline opportunities to drive performance.
• Oversee SME loan applications from approval to payment, ensuring compliance with KYC, AML and sanctions policies.
• Coordinate SME Lending Forum meetings to align customer recruitment with risk appetite and profitability.
• Provide leadership, motivation and performance management for Relationship Officers, including recruitment, training and disciplinary processes.
• Maintain high‑quality customer service by handling complaints, coordinating with product specialists and improving service scores.
• Ensure branch operations meet compliance standards, manage non‑performing assets and control cost centers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in SME banking or commercial relationship management.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and developing high‑performing teams.
• Deep understanding of banking products, risk management, KYC/AML regulations and credit processes.
• Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
