Regional Technical Officer – PMTCT & Triple Elimination

About the role

The Regional Technical Officer – Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) provides technical expertise and supports the implementation of PMTCT, HIV‑Exposed Infants, pediatric HIV and cervical cancer services within the EpiC Project in Tanzania.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of PMTCT and cervical cancer prevention interventions across the region.
• Provide technical guidance to facilities and community teams for triple elimination of HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B, and for cervical cancer screening and treatment.
• Strengthen referral and linkage systems, monitor key indicators and ensure timely reporting of performance data.
• Mentor and coach regional technical teams and healthcare workers through supervision, on‑the‑job training and performance improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Doctor of Medicine (MD), Nursing degree or equivalent health‑related qualification with professional registration.
• Minimum of four years progressive experience in PMTCT, pediatric HIV, MNCH or related HIV programmes, preferably donor‑funded.
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Tanzania MOH guidelines for PMTCT and cervical cancer prevention.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong data analysis, reporting and quality‑improvement skills.
