Quality Control / Quality Assurance Officer

About the role

A client of Shugulika Africa Limited in Dar es Salaam is looking for a Quality Control / Quality Assurance officer to make sure products meet established quality standards and regulatory requirements. The role works in shifts, covering internal process quality control (IPQC) and the quality of semi-finished and finished goods.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out all IPQC activities in your shift and coordinate shift activities through effective communication.
• Ensure labelled bags are available for final-goods packing and control their issue to the production line.
• Monitor pest control by daily inspection of rodent traps, insecticides and pheromone traps, and start corrective actions when pests are found.
• Take in-process samples and online samples of semi-finished and finished products, run chemical analysis and record results in the analysis report.
• Verify products and processes online and report immediately so corrections can be made.
• Track defective material and monitor blending and final-goods packing.
• Check that raw material and by-product consumption matches the plan, and keep shift-wise samples and shipment samples stored and recorded.
• Make sure critical control points (CCPs) are available and working, and verify CCP records.
• Check that the plant is cleaned according to the schedule and GMP norms, and that HACCP activities are monitored.
• Enforce worker hygiene and the jewellery policy.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
• Fresh graduate or candidate with 1-2 years of experience in quality control or a related area.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in documentation.
