Programme Associate – SRHR Unit (G6)

About the role

The Programme Associate provides comprehensive programmatic, financial and administrative support to the Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Unit of UNFPA Tanzania. Working under the SRHR Coordinator and in close collaboration with finance, operations and implementing partners, the role ensures efficient implementation of the country programme in both development and humanitarian contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Process payment requests, travel authorisations and purchase orders using UNFPA’s ERP systems (e.g., Quantum) and monitor budget utilisation against approved targets.
• Support implementing partners in preparing Annual Work Plans, Funding Authorisation requests and FACE forms, while ensuring compliance with HACT and UNFPA financial rules.
• Plan and coordinate logistics for high‑level meetings, donor reviews and capacity‑building workshops, including venue procurement, travel itineraries and DSA disbursements.
• Manage correspondence, maintain filing systems and update stakeholder contact databases.
• Follow up on qualitative and quantitative progress reports from partners, compile monitoring data and assist in quarterly implementation reporting.
• Participate in field monitoring missions, document findings and track follow‑up actions to address programme bottlenecks.

Required profile

• Completed secondary education; a university degree in public health, gender studies, development studies or a related field is highly desirable.
• Minimum six years of experience in programme management support, administration or financial tracking within UN agencies, NGOs or similar organisations.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken); Kiswahili proficiency is desired.

Required skills

• Proficiency with UNFPA ERP systems such as Quantum or Atlas.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management.
• Experience processing FACE forms and applying HACT compliance procedures.
