Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer reports to the Finance Manager and ensures that COTACOF's office, warehouse and upcountry sites receive the right goods and services at the right price and on time, complying with company policy and TRA requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Turn purchase requisitions into purchase orders using competitive quotations and follow COTACOF's procurement policy.
• Buy packaging, PPE, spares, consumables and IT equipment, negotiate prices and terms, and manage supplier contracts.
• Maintain a TRA‑compliant supplier list and conduct yearly reviews of key suppliers.
• Plan stock and reorder levels with the Warehouse team, match deliveries to POs and invoices, and keep audit‑ready records.
• Provide day‑to‑day IT support for laptops, printers, network, email and business systems, escalating to Group IT when needed.
• Manage internet, Wi‑Fi and VPN links, set up and remove user accounts, run backups and security updates, and support CCTV and access control systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Procurement & Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
• At least 3 years of procurement experience, preferably in agribusiness, manufacturing, export or FMCG.
• Basic IT support experience.
• Fluent in English and Kiswahili, based in Dar es Salaam with occasional upcountry travel.

Required skills

• Sourcing, negotiation and supplier management.
• Knowledge of Tanzanian procurement tax rules (TIN, VAT, EFD).
• Strong Excel skills and experience with an ERP system.
• Basic IT troubleshooting and Microsoft 365.
